A Bench Built for Power and Control

Applying a power module, a sensor or an MCU correctly is as important as choosing the right part, and because the performance depends on the gate drive, the isolation and the thermal design, the integration decides how efficient and how reliable the system becomes. To support customers more effectively, BeiLuo has opened an FAE verification bench dedicated to BYD Semiconductor devices. The bench lets our engineers measure the module loss, the current accuracy and the thermal behavior before a customer commits to a design, turning advice into evidence.

The bench complements the stock program announced in July. Where the stocking program answers the question of whether a part is available, the new bench answers the question of whether the part will perform in a specific application. Together they let BeiLuo support a design from selection through validation, rather than only at the point of sale.

What We Measure

The bench is equipped with precision power meters, a programmable load, a thermal chamber, a high-bandwidth oscilloscope with a differential probe and a current probe, and a calibrated current source. Engineers measure the conduction and switching loss of a power module, the switching waveform and the voltage overshoot, the case and baseplate temperature at worst-case load and ambient, and the accuracy of a current sensor across its range. For an MCU the bench verifies the peripheral timing and the ADC performance in a representative circuit.

Module Loss and Switching

The bench measures the conduction loss from the saturation voltage and the current, and the switching loss from the energy per transition, across the real operating point. It captures the switching waveform and the overshoot, which shows whether the gate drive and the layout are correct, and it confirms the dead-time and the gate resistance for the given module. This data turns a datasheet figure into a measured result for the customer's conditions.

Current Accuracy and Driver Thermal

For a current sensor the bench compares the output against a reference current across the range, which verifies the sensitivity and the total error and shows the behavior at the temperature extremes. For a power module and an IPM it measures the case and baseplate temperature at worst-case load and ambient, which confirms the thermal margin and shows whether the heat sink and the copper area are enough.

From Selection to Validation

When a customer asks which device suits their design, our FAE team can now validate the recommendation on the bench. We measure the loss and the thermal margin of a module, or the accuracy of a current sensor, or the timing of an MCU, compare the result with the datasheet expectation and confirm the margin. The result is a design path backed by measured data, which reduces the risk of late-stage surprises and shortens the path to a reliable design.

Thermal Projection

The bench measures the case and baseplate temperature of a module at worst-case load and ambient and lets us project the junction temperature from the loss and the thermal resistance, and it measures the current sensor accuracy over temperature. That turns a device choice into a verified decision rather than an estimate.

Supporting a Design End to End

The bench is a support tool, not a test house, and it is strongest when used early. A typical engagement starts with a selection question, moves to a bench check of the chosen device under the customer's conditions, and ends with a validated recommendation for the part and the layout. Because BeiLuo holds the devices in regional stock, the validated part can then move quickly to a sample and a production order.

How to Use the Bench

Customers can request a bench evaluation by sending their bus voltage, current, switching frequency, thermal environment and accuracy target to the BeiLuo team. Our engineers will set up the test, measure the key parameters and share the results with a design recommendation. Because the bench and the stock program work together, a customer can validate a device on the bench and then hold production stock within the same week. The bench is one more reason to treat BeiLuo as a technical partner for BYD devices rather than a simple parts supplier.
